Parents,
We had to squeeze a lot in because of the shortened week but we were able to cover most of everything that we needed to. I have been impressed with the students’ focus. We will continue into next week.
Here is what we are learning next week:
Math: Continuing with comparing two 3-digit numbers up to 1000. Introducing new addition and subtraction strategies (friendly numbers and same difference).
Reading/Language Arts: Inferring; we will be using clues from our text and using our schema (prior knowledge) to infer while reading and comparing and contrasting MLK Jr. and Jackie Robinson.
Writing: Opinion writing; continuing with book reviews.
Social Studies: Jackie Robinson and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Information and reminders:
Monday: No school
Tuesday: ILC with Mrs. Bates
Friday: Guidance with Mrs. Grindstaff
*Reminder to have your child log their nightly reading on the 200 book club logs.
