Parents,
We made it through a whole week! I think we are finally back to our normal routine. Next week is Falcon’s spirit week. The children are very excited and we decorated our door to show our spirit. They had a blast designing and creating. I love what they came up with. Don’t forget to check it out if you come to visit.
Here is what we are learning next week:
Math: We will be adding and subtracting up to 1000.
Reading/Language Arts: We will also be using the comprehension strategy of asking and answering questions and starting our unit on fairy tales and folk tales to study the story structure.
Writing: We tested two toys and formed an opinion on the best toy. We will be writing an opinion piece with supporting reasons and examples.
Social Studies: We will be finishing our unit on Martin Luther King, Jr.
Science: Sun, moon, stars
Information and reminders:
Monday: Guidance with Mrs. Grindstaff
In the TTF’s Science Lab this month Mr. Giunta has been working with our students on the orbit of the sun. We built shadow trackers with card stock and used the Skyview App to record the sun’s movement throughout the day. Next week we’ll graph our data before we get started on the phases of the moon. Get more details on Mr. Giunta’s blog!
*Reminder to have your child log their nightly reading on the 200 book club logs.
