Parents,
We had a fun week celebrating Dr. Seuss. We read and listened to a lot of great books and learned more about Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss).
Here is what we are learning this week:
Math: Solving word problems using dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies and using the cent and dollar sign correctly.
Reading/Language Arts: We will continue our unit on folktales, fables, and fairy tales. We will focus on reviewing elements of each, practice finding the moral/message, and understand character point of view.
Writing: Persuasive writing
Science: We will learn about how shadows form and change during the day.
Social Studies: Government; we will learning about the roles of the Mayor, Governor, and President and talking about the need for rules and laws.
Information and reminders:
Monday: Counseling with Mrs. Grindstaff
Tuesday: Picture Day
Wednesday: Walk to school day! I will be walking from Mrs. Gentry's house in Chimney Springs. She is at the top of Revere Circle. Look for the balloons.
