We had another fun week in second grade and it has been nice getting into a routine. We snuck in some fun as well with our first counseling lesson with Mrs. Grindstaff, a lesson in the LLC, and today we attended a Strong4Life pep rally.
We celebrated Jacob’s birthday and Hudson’s birthday this week. Above is what their classmates had to say about them.
Next week, the Cobb Performing Arts field trip permission forms will be going home. Please be on the lookout and return at your earliest convenience. Our trip to the Sleepy Hollow ballet is coming up in September.

Here is what we are learning the week of 8/19:
Reading/ELA- We will continue with character traits and how characters change within a story then move to story structure.
Phonics – This week we will review long and short vowel sounds and nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Writing- Personal narratives; we will focus on small moment stories.
Math- Place value; understanding that the three digits of a number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones. Expanded form and reading and writing numbers to 1,000.
Science- Matter; describe and classify different objects according to their physical properties.
STEAM –Engineering Design Process and begin our Stuck Like Glue challenge.
