Families,
Thursday is our field trip to see Sleepy Hollow. Thank you for sending back the permission forms. I have all of them now. We will be eating lunch once we get back. Since we are not sure of our return time, this is not a good day to visit for lunch. Please have your children dress nicely for our trip.
We have a lunch schedule change on Wednesday the 18th. We will be eating at 10:46.
We celebrated Liam’s birthday today. Above is what his classmates had to say about him.
Have a terrific weekend!
Here is what we are learning the week of 9/16:
Reading/ELA- We will continue to review all strategies taught so far but also introduce using context clues when we read.
Phonics –Short/long vowels and vowel teams and continued review of closed syllable words.
Writing- We will continue our unit on small moment stories (personal narratives). Students have been getting better and stretching out their stories and adding sensory details.
Math- Our focus will be on one step problem solving.
Social Studies- We will wrap up Georgia’s regions and rivers and move to learning about government. We will talk about the importance of rules and laws and learn about the roles of the president, governor, and mayor.
STEAM – We will be kicking off our year long project. We will be investigating a problem having to due with the Monarch butterfly. Stay tuned!
Important dates:
Thursday: Field trip to the ballet
Wish List:
Disposable face masks for Mrs. Chasko’s class
Small treasure box items
