Parents,
Well, we completed a full week of school. The kids worked extra hard to catch up and we are back on track.
Today we had our STEM Showcase and I was so proud of all the children. They worked so well in their groups and solved their “problem”. Their challenge was to imagine they were Jackie Robinson or Martin Luther King, Jr. and get their message of inequality out using 21st century technology. The “to the point” messages were wonderful.
Field trip forms were sent out this week. Please fill out and return to school. Please do not forget to fill out the lunch question on the back. Thank you so much.
Here is what we are learning next week:
Math- Addition/Subtraction up to 1,000 using models and drawings.
Reading/ELA- Folk tales and fairy tales. We will be looking at story structure and asking/answering questions.
Writing- Opinion Writing; we will be writing letters on our favorite book characters.
Social Studies/Science- Finishing with Jackie Robinson and MLK, Jr. /Juliette Gordon Low
Important Dates and Info:
Monday- ILC with Mrs. Bates
*If your child submitted a tryout form for the Tritt Variety and Talent show by Thursday the 25th, please visit Mrs. Yunek's blog for your child's tryout time.
