Parents,
The children have been doing so well being quiet while the other grades have been testing. I know it is hard on them when our routine is off.
Thank you to all for turning in the field trip forms. This is a fun trip and we are all looking forward to it.
Invitations were sent home for our STEAM showcase on May 3rd. It is an opportunity for you to see how it looks in our classroom. If it works out for you to be able to join us, we would love it.
Here is what we are learning this week:
Math- Geometry; we will be partitioning circles and rectangles into two, three, or four equal shares as well as continuing to explore 2D and 3D shapes.
Reading/ELA- We will continue to look at the main idea/supporting details in multi-paragraph texts. We will also ask and answer who, what, when, why, and how questions about each text. This includes using context clues to help understand the paragraphs we read.
Students will also begin to compare and contrast two texts on the same topic/Prefixes
Writing- Finishing our Informational unit and moving towards Narrative.
Science- Life Cycles; plants and butterflies.
STEAM: We will start planning for our wrapping paper design challenge with the help of Johnny’s mom.
Important Dates and Info:
Monday- Counseling with Mrs. Grindstaff
