Parents,
I hope you and your children enjoyed the unexpected snow days. I know I will hear all about it and look forward to it. I have so many great memories growing up in Chicago playing in the snow.
Reminder that the whole school does not have any homework the month of December due to our school wide Tritt-mazing Race incentive. Of course I still encourage the students to read every day so they do not lose momentum in their reading.
Here is what we are learning this week:
Math: Measurement (centimeters and meters) word problems
Reading/Language Arts: We will continue to learn how words and phrases (regular beats, alliteration, rhymes, and repeated lines) supply rhythm and meaning in a story, poem, or song/Possessives; using an apostrophe to form frequently occurring possessives.
Writing: Informational writing; working on writing a strong introduction and conclusion.
Social Studies: We will learn about Sequoyah and his development of the Cherokee alphabet.
Goods and Services; we will talk about how services are allocated through money, trade, and bartering.
Important Dates and Info:
*Holiday School Store benefiting Rally Foundation is this week.
Monday: Counseling with Mrs. Grindstaff
